From System Setup to a Standalone Brand Website

With a new sitemap, well-thought-out UX, strategic content, and a technical rollout, we transformed the existing TYPO3 instance into a clearly structured platform for Kermi Duschdesign’s product lineup.

The Task

Following its spin-off from the indoor climate division, Kermi Duschdesign faced the challenge of redefining its website as an independent and clearly structured platform. Although a dedicated TYPO3 instance already existed, the entire site architecture had to be reimagined. Our task included developing a clear sitemap, introducing well-organized category pages, and creating all relevant content to present the product portfolio - covering showers and faucets - in a clearer, more modern, and significantly more customer-friendly way.

The Customer

Kermi Duschdesign specializes in high-quality bathroom solutions such as shower enclosures and faucets. As an independent business unit within Abonia Holding (Switzerland), the company operates its own TYPO3 instance and is increasingly establishing itself as an independent brand in the market.

Kermi Shower Design

The Goal

The goal was to develop a fully independent, clearly structured, and customer-focused platform from the TYPO3 website, which had been separated from the indoor climate division. To achieve this, a new sitemap, clearly organized category pages, and tailored content were to be created to optimally showcase Kermi Duschdesign’s product portfolio.

Our UX Services

The Challenge

The website redesign took place in parallel with internal post-split processes, such as SAP decoupling and potential brand adjustments. Starting with a cloned TYPO3 instance, the goal was to establish a distinct digital identity—in terms of structure, content, and technology.

Our Solution

Structural Analysis & Information Architecture

We analyzed the existing TYPO3 structure and developed a completely new sitemap, including clearly defined category pages, to present Kermi Duschdesign’s product range in a logical and user-friendly way.

Content Development

Based on the new architecture, our content team created all relevant text for categories, product areas, and navigation elements - with the goal of making the content more precise, easier to understand, and more conversion-oriented.

Technical Rollout

The new structures and content were then implemented in the TYPO3 instance. This included navigation, page templates, and content modules to ensure optimal preparation for the go-live of the restructured website.

Conclusion

Despite the company’s ongoing restructuring, we have succeeded in paving the way for Kermi Duschdesign to establish an independent, customer-focused digital presence. Our UX and content services lay the foundation for a better user experience and optimized product presentation.
